It is a "peace silk" because the caterpillars are not destroyed in the cocoon. They are allowed to emerge as moths and live a full lifecycle similar to the Tussar silk.

Eri silk is spun rather than reeled. The Eri yarn has a different weight to the Tussar silk, it is heavier (like wool mixed with cotton but a lot softer). Colour: White

Great for weaving and other crafts - they also dye very easily, as well as being great for a wide range of textile techniques.
